Depression among diabetes mellitus patients: A study of the protective factors

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease with patients that continue to increase per year. This study aimed understand the role of self-esteem and religious orientation on depression resilience as mediator among diabetes (DM). A total 100 were recruited from four public health centers. The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) was used measure depression. In contrast, measured using two aspects Rosenberg’s scale, namely self-liking self-competence. Religious Allport Ross’s while Connor Davidson’s scale. results analyzed path analyses. found mediated relationship between DM patients. Self-esteem also shown correlate resilience, showed significant contrast initial predictions, however, there no effect resilience. research implications suggest serves an important protective factor toward suffering DM.
